Sherri Stewart was born in Dayton, OH and currently lives in Cary, North Carolina. With a Bachelors degree in Business from Indiana University and a Masters Degree in Healthcare Administration from UNC at Chapel Hill, Sherri spent over 20 years as a healthcare executive. In 2010, Sherri was blessed to be able to follow her bliss and decided to exchange her briefcase for her art palette. As a result, her work reflects her personal transition from a structured corporate environment to an unstructured, free flowing inquisitive journey. It entails a spiritual awakening and a focus on reflection and growth.
Her primary medium is painting - especially with alcohol ink as it provides the most fluidity and vibrancy. Sherri's work is inspired by her scuba diving, love of the NC beaches and mountains and the ambiguity of abstract designs. Although Sherri is a self-taught artist, her mother and sister (both artists) greatly influenced her love of art. She has exhibited juried work for the Visual Art Exchange, Cary Lazy Daze, Appetite for Art (Umstead Hotel), the Anne McKee Art auction (Florida Keys), and various local businesses and organizations.
